Description

A quick and flavorful vegan dish with crispy chickpeas coated in a sticky sesame glaze.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add chickpeas and cook until crispy, about 5 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chickpeas and stir to coat.
  5. Mix cornstarch and water, then add to the pan to thicken the sauce.
  6. Cook for 2 more minutes until sticky.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

  • Use low-sodium soy sauce if preferred.
  • Add chili flakes for extra heat.
  • Serve over rice or as a salad topping.
