Description

These strawberry hand pies are a delightful and easy-to-make treat. Flaky pastry pockets filled with sweet strawberry jam, perfect for a quick snack or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (14.1 ounce) package refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll pie crusts onto a lightly floured surface. Cut each crust into 4 equal squares.
  3. Spoon 1 tablespoon of strawberry jam onto the center of each square.
  4. Fold one corner of each square over the jam to form a triangle. Press the edges firmly to seal. You can use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative seal.
  5. Place the hand pies on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of the pies with the beaten egg and sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
  6. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Let cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

  • You can use any fruit jam you prefer for the filling.
  • For a richer color, you can add a few drops of red food coloring to the jam.
  • These hand pies are best served warm.
