Description

Cool down with this easy homemade strawberry frozen yogurt. It’s a refreshing treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (about 3 cups) fresh or frozen strawberries, stems removed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or low-fat)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. If using fresh strawberries, wash and hull them. If using frozen, let them thaw slightly.
  2. In a food processor or blender, combine the strawberries and sugar. Process until smooth.
  3. Add the Greek yogurt and vanilla extract to the food processor. Blend until just combined and smooth. Do not overmix.
  4. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually 15-25 minutes, until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
  5. For a firmer consistency, transfer the frozen yogurt to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2-4 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter frozen yogurt, add more sugar. For a tarter flavor, reduce the sugar.
  • You can use other berries or fruits for variations.
  • Store leftover frozen yogurt in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 week. It may become very firm; let it soften at room temperature for a few minutes before serving.
