Description
Cool down with this easy homemade strawberry frozen yogurt. It’s a refreshing treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (about 3 cups) fresh or frozen strawberries, stems removed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 2 cups plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or low-fat)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- If using fresh strawberries, wash and hull them. If using frozen, let them thaw slightly.
- In a food processor or blender, combine the strawberries and sugar. Process until smooth.
- Add the Greek yogurt and vanilla extract to the food processor. Blend until just combined and smooth. Do not overmix.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually 15-25 minutes, until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- For a firmer consistency, transfer the frozen yogurt to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2-4 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a sweeter frozen yogurt, add more sugar. For a tarter flavor, reduce the sugar.
- You can use other berries or fruits for variations.
- Store leftover frozen yogurt in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 week. It may become very firm; let it soften at room temperature for a few minutes before serving.
