Description

This simple strawberry chia seed jam is perfect for spreading on toast, stirring into yogurt, or topping pancakes. It’s quick to make and uses natural sweeteners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Combine strawberries, maple syrup, and lemon juice in a medium saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes, mashing the strawberries with a fork as they soften, until the mixture is thick and jam-like.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the chia seeds.
  4. Pour the jam into a clean jar and let it cool completely before refrigerating.
  5. The jam will thicken further as it cools.

Notes

  • Store the jam in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 weeks.
  • You can adjust the sweetness to your liking.
  • For a smoother jam, blend the cooked strawberries before adding chia seeds.
  • Other berries like raspberries or blueberries can be used in place of strawberries.
