Description

A simple and refreshing dessert featuring fresh strawberries and whipped cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup heavy cream, chilled
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon alcohol-free vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Stir gently and let sit for 15-20 minutes to allow the strawberries to release their juices.
  2. While the strawberries are macerating, in a separate cold bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and alcohol-free vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  3. Gently fold about half of the whipped cream into the macerated strawberries.
  4. Spoon the strawberry fool into individual serving glasses.
  5. Top with the remaining whipped cream.
  6. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving for best results.

Notes

  • For a smoother texture, you can mash some of the strawberries before folding in the cream.
  • Adjust the sugar amounts to your preference and the sweetness of the strawberries.
  • This dessert is best served fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
