Description

This recipe provides a simple and delicious way to prepare sautéed broccoli, perfect as a side dish or a healthy snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh broccoli florets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the broccoli florets thoroughly.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Add the broccoli florets to the skillet. Stir to coat the broccoli with the oil and garlic.
  5. Cover the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the broccoli is tender-crisp.
  6. Remove the lid and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the broccoli reaches your desired tenderness and has a slight char.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Stir in the lemon juice (if using) just before serving.
  9. Serve immediately as a healthy side dish.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast at the end.
