Description

Rose lemonade is a refreshing drink with floral and citrus notes. It is simple to make and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water (for simple syrup)
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon rose water
  • 34 cups cold water (for mixing)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh rose petals for garnish (optional)
  • Lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine granulated sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. This is your simple syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and rose water.
  3. Add 3-4 cups of cold water, or more to taste, depending on how strong you like your lemonade.
  4. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as desired by adding more simple syrup or lemon juice.
  6. Serve chilled over ice.
  7. Garnish with fresh rose petals and lemon slices, if desired.

Notes

  • For a pinker lemonade, you can add a drop of red food coloring or a splash of cranberry juice.
  • Adjust the amount of rose water to your preference; a little goes a long way.
  • Homemade lemonade tastes best when fresh.
