Description
Rose lemonade is a refreshing drink with floral and citrus notes. It is simple to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water (for simple syrup)
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon rose water
- 3–4 cups cold water (for mixing)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh rose petals for garnish (optional)
- Lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Combine granulated sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. This is your simple syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- In a large pitcher, combine the cooled simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and rose water.
- Add 3-4 cups of cold water, or more to taste, depending on how strong you like your lemonade.
- Stir well to combine all ingredients.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as desired by adding more simple syrup or lemon juice.
- Serve chilled over ice.
- Garnish with fresh rose petals and lemon slices, if desired.
Notes
- For a pinker lemonade, you can add a drop of red food coloring or a splash of cranberry juice.
- Adjust the amount of rose water to your preference; a little goes a long way.
- Homemade lemonade tastes best when fresh.
- You can make the simple syrup ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator.
