Description
Juicy ribeye steak cooked to perfection and served with savory sautéed mushrooms. This dish is simple yet elegant, perfect for a weeknight meal or a special occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (10-ounce) ribeye steaks
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Sear the steaks for 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness. Remove steaks from the skillet and let rest on a cutting board, tented with foil.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms release their liquid and start to brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and butter to the skillet with the mushrooms. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the garlic is fragrant and the butter is melted.
- Season the mushrooms with salt and pepper to taste.
- Slice the rested ribeye steaks against the grain and serve immediately with the sautéed mushrooms.
Notes
- Adjust cooking time for steaks based on thickness and desired doneness.
- For extra flavor, add fresh thyme or rosemary sprigs to the skillet with the butter and garlic.
- You can use other types of mushrooms like shiitake or button mushrooms.
