Description

A simple and quick recipe for making delicious homemade butter chicken with tender chicken pieces in a rich, creamy tomato sauce.


Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 400g tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, and salt for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat butter in a pan, add chopped onions, and sauté until golden.
  3. Add marinated chicken and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in tomato puree and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and sprinkle garam masala. Cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust chili powder for preferred spice level.
  • For a richer flavor, grill marinated chicken before adding to the sauce.
