Description

A creamy and flavorful vegan cheese sauce made with cashews, perfect for nachos or dipping.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup raw cashews (soaked for at least 2 hours)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric (for color)

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the soaked cashews.
  2. Add all ingredients to a blender.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  4. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. Warm slightly in a pan if serving hot or use immediately.

Notes

  • Soaking cashews softens them for a smoother texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • Thin with water if needed when reheating.
