- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon maple extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon maple extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and maple extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chopped pecans.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- To make the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and maple extract until smooth.
- Once cookies are cool, drizzle or spread the glaze over them.
Notes
- For extra maple flavor, use pure maple syrup in the glaze instead of milk.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- You can toast the pecans before adding them to the dough for a deeper flavor.
