Description

Soft and chewy maple pecan cookies with a delightful glaze.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon maple extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and maple extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in the chopped pecans.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. To make the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and maple extract until smooth.
  10. Once cookies are cool, drizzle or spread the glaze over them.

Notes

  • For extra maple flavor, use pure maple syrup in the glaze instead of milk.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • You can toast the pecans before adding them to the dough for a deeper flavor.
