These refreshing lettuce fish tacos are a healthy and flavorful meal. Crispy fish is nestled in crisp lettuce cups and topped with a zesty lime crema.

- 1 pound white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 head butter lettuce or romaine lettuce, separated into leaves
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (for crema)
- Pinch of salt (for crema)
- Optional toppings: diced avocado, salsa, shredded cabbage
Instructions
- Pat fish fillets dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Rub the mixture over both sides of the fish fillets.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook fish for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and flaky.
- While fish cooks, prepare the lime crema. In a small bowl, whisk together yogurt, lime juice, cilantro, cumin, and a pinch of salt.
- To assemble tacos, place a piece of cooked fish into a lettuce cup.
- Drizzle with lime crema and add any desired toppings.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the fish seasoning.
- You can grill or bake the fish instead of pan-frying.
- Leftover fish and crema can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
