- 1.5 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in honey, low-sodium soy sauce, unsalted butter, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, until slightly thickened.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Serve honey garlic butter shrimp over rice, pasta, or with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
- You can prepare the sauce ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
