Description

A simple and delicious garlic butter steak recipe that’s perfect for any occasion. Juicy steak cooked to perfection and topped with rich garlic butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8-10 oz) ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove the steak from the fridge 30 minutes before cooking to bring it to room temperature.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Season the steak with salt and pepper on both sides.
  4. Cook the steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust time based on your preference.
  5. Add butter, minced garlic, and thyme to the skillet during the last minute of cooking.
  6. Spoon the melted garlic butter over the steak as it finishes cooking.
  7. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer for accurate doneness: 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium.
  • Letting the steak rest ensures juiciness.
  • Pair with roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.
