Description

Chocolate fondue is a delightful and interactive dessert, perfect for sharing. It features melted chocolate served with a variety of fresh fruits and other dippers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces high-quality chocolate (dark, milk, or semi-sweet), finely chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (alcohol-free)
  • Assorted fresh fruits for dipping (strawberries, banana slices, apple wedges, orange segments, raspberries, blueberries)
  • Optional dippers (marshmallows, pretzels, pound cake cubes, cookies)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Do not boil.
  2. Remove the cream from the heat and immediately add the finely chopped chocolate. Let it sit for 5 minutes to melt.
  3. Add the butter and vanilla extract (alcohol-free) to the chocolate mixture.
  4. Whisk gently until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  5. Transfer the chocolate fondue to a fondue pot or a small slow cooker set to warm.
  6. Arrange the fresh fruits and other dippers around the fondue pot.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy dipping.

Notes

  • For a thinner fondue, add a little more warm cream, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
  • For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of salt to the melted chocolate.
  • Ensure fruits are clean and dry before serving.
  • If the fondue thickens while serving, stir in a small amount of warm cream.
