Description
Chocolate-dipped strawberries are a classic and elegant treat. Fresh strawberries are coated in melted chocolate, creating a delightful combination of sweet fruit and rich chocolate.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh strawberries, washed and dried
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother dipping)
- 1/4 cup white chocolate, melted (optional, for decoration)
Instructions
- Wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries. It is crucial that they are completely dry for the chocolate to adhere properly.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
- Melt the semi-sweet chocolate. You can do this in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler over simmering water. If desired, stir in coconut oil for a smoother consistency.
- Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, twirling to coat evenly.
- Allow any excess chocolate to drip off, then place the dipped strawberry on the prepared baking sheet.
- If decorating, melt the white chocolate. Drizzle it over the chocolate-dipped strawberries using a spoon or a piping bag with a small hole.
- Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.
- Serve chilled.
Notes
- Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
- Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping; moisture will cause the chocolate to seize.
- For best results, use good quality chocolate.
- Store chocolate-dipped strawberries in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
