Description

Chocolate-dipped strawberries are a classic and elegant treat. Fresh strawberries are coated in melted chocolate, creating a delightful combination of sweet fruit and rich chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, washed and dried
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother dipping)
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate, melted (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries. It is crucial that they are completely dry for the chocolate to adhere properly.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
  3. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate. You can do this in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler over simmering water. If desired, stir in coconut oil for a smoother consistency.
  4. Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, twirling to coat evenly.
  5. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off, then place the dipped strawberry on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. If decorating, melt the white chocolate. Drizzle it over the chocolate-dipped strawberries using a spoon or a piping bag with a small hole.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.
  8. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
  • Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping; moisture will cause the chocolate to seize.
  • For best results, use good quality chocolate.
  • Store chocolate-dipped strawberries in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
