Description

These broccoli tots are a healthy and delicious alternative to traditional potato tots. They are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, perfect for a snack or a side dish.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups finely chopped broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for baking/frying)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the finely chopped broccoli, grated cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small, tot-shaped cylinders.
  4. Place the broccoli tots on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Alternatively, you can pan-fry them in olive oil over medium heat until golden brown on all sides.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

  • You can use frozen broccoli, just make sure to thaw it and squeeze out any excess water before chopping.
