Description

A homemade version of the popular Beef Crunchwrap Supreme, featuring seasoned ground beef, nacho cheese sauce, a crispy tostada shell, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and shredded cheese, all wrapped in a large flour tortilla and grilled to golden perfection. This recipe provides a satisfying and flavorful meal that is perfect for a fun dinner or a gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 4 large flour tortillas (burrito size)
  • 4 tostada shells
  • 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Vegetable oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir well and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced and the beef is well-seasoned. Remove from heat.
  3. Lay one large flour tortilla flat. Spread a layer of nacho cheese sauce in the center of the tortilla, leaving a border.
  4. Spoon a generous amount of the seasoned ground beef over the nacho cheese.
  5. Place a tostada shell directly on top of the beef.
  6. Spread sour cream evenly over the tostada shell.
  7. Layer shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese on top of the sour cream.
  8. Fold the edges of the large tortilla towards the center, overlapping them to completely cover the filling. If needed, use a small piece of another tortilla to patch any gaps in the center.
  9. Heat a lightly oiled non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  10. Carefully place the Crunchwrap seam-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  11. Flip the Crunchwrap and cook on the other side for another 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown and heated through.
  12. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and ingredients.
  13. Cut each Crunchwrap in half and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the ground beef.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
  • Feel free to add other toppings like sliced black olives, pickled jalapeños, or guacamole.
  • If your large tortillas are not big enough to completely seal the filling, you can cut a smaller circle from another tortilla and use it to cover the gap in the center before folding the edges.
