This recipe provides a satisfying and flavorful meal that is perfect for a fun dinner or a gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup water
- 4 large flour tortillas (burrito size)
- 4 tostada shells
- 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Vegetable oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir well and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced and the beef is well-seasoned. Remove from heat.
- Lay one large flour tortilla flat. Spread a layer of nacho cheese sauce in the center of the tortilla, leaving a border.
- Spoon a generous amount of the seasoned ground beef over the nacho cheese.
- Place a tostada shell directly on top of the beef.
- Spread sour cream evenly over the tostada shell.
- Layer shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese on top of the sour cream.
- Fold the edges of the large tortilla towards the center, overlapping them to completely cover the filling. If needed, use a small piece of another tortilla to patch any gaps in the center.
- Heat a lightly oiled non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Carefully place the Crunchwrap seam-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Flip the Crunchwrap and cook on the other side for another 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown and heated through.
- Repeat with the remaining tortillas and ingredients.
- Cut each Crunchwrap in half and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the ground beef.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
- Feel free to add other toppings like sliced black olives, pickled jalapeños, or guacamole.
- If your large tortillas are not big enough to completely seal the filling, you can cut a smaller circle from another tortilla and use it to cover the gap in the center before folding the edges.
