Description

This recipe guides you through making a delicious beef and broccoli stir-fry, perfect for a quick and flavorful weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Mix well and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add broccoli florets to the same skillet and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes, until tender-crisp.
  4. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar. Pour the sauce into the skillet with the broccoli.
  6. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 1-2 minutes, until slightly thickened.
  7. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
  8. Serve immediately with steamed rice.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic and ginger.
  • You can substitute flank steak with sirloin or skirt steak.
  • Adjust the amount of soy sauce and brown sugar to your taste.
