Description

These baked strawberry donuts are a delightful and easy-to-make treat. They are soft, fluffy, and bursting with fresh strawberry flavor, perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup finely diced fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 23 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the finely diced fresh strawberries.
  6. Spoon or pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the donuts are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into one comes out clean.
  8. Remove the donuts from the oven and let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. While the donuts cool, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Add more milk if needed to reach your desired consistency.
  10. Once the donuts are completely cool, dip each donut into the glaze, allowing any excess to drip off.
  11. Let the glaze set before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh, ripe strawberries.
  • Do not overmix the batter, as this can result in tough donuts.
  • If you do not have a donut pan, you can bake these in a muffin tin for donut holes. Adjust baking time accordingly.
  • Store leftover donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days.
