Description
Baked salmon with a flavorful lemon-herb crust. This dish is simple to prepare and perfect for a healthy meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 pounds salmon fillet, skin on or off
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lemon, zest and juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for extra crunch)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pat the salmon fillet dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, minced garlic, parsley, dill, oregano, salt, and pepper. If using, stir in the breadcrumbs.
- Place the salmon on the prepared baking sheet. Spread the lemon-herb mixture evenly over the top of the salmon.
- Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of your salmon.
- Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.
Notes
- For a crispier crust, broil the salmon for the last 1-2 minutes of cooking, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- You can substitute other fresh herbs like chives or thyme for a different flavor profile.
- Adjust the amount of garlic and lemon to your preference.
